News Highlights: 2020 in an overview: Chinese companies are suffering as global Technology Tensions are mounting

2020 was not an easy year for Chinese technology companies. Officials around the world became more wary of the potential threats to national security posed by their growing power. A slew of bans, restrictions and sanctions against Chinese technology companies bolstered China’s decision to support indigenous innovation and self-reliance. And while the Biden administration is likely to take a more measured policy approach than the Trump administration, it is unlikely that things will become much easier for Chinese tech companies in 2021.
